The Art of Crystal Gazing

The day I got my ball was incredible, and I couldn't stop staring at it all day. Then, it was time to begin practicing scrying, which was challenging initially. It took several months before I truly began to master it.

Fast forward 20 years, and I continue to practice scrying; it's much simpler now. Please don't lose hope.

Crystal gazing is more than just looking into a reflective surface; it is a profound spiritual practice that strengthens intuitive abilities and deepens your connection to the unseen realms.

In this third installment of our series, we will explore key aspects that can enhance your scrying skills, including understanding symbols, developing clairvoyance, tracking your progress, and overcoming self-doubt.

Key Considerations When Beginning

My preferred spot for scrying was my bathroom. I would light a candle and place it behind me as the sole source of light. Sitting at my makeup desk with the ball in front of me, I would relax, meditate, and strive to keep my mind clear.

For months, nothing significant occurred aside from the positive feelings I got from meditation. However, one day, everything shifted.

This scrying session was unique, and I will attempt to describe what occurred. As I entered the zone and that state of zen, staring at the ball as usual, the ball suddenly vanished, followed by the makeup table.

As this was happening, the bathroom seemed to be engulfed in a void, as if I were sitting in a cloud.

Within seconds, I began to see images and flashes of places or people; my mind was flooded with visuals, and all I could do was sit in awe of the experience.

This marked the start of my scrying journey, and I have journals filled with the information I've collected over the years. This practice has significantly aided my spiritual life, and it's something I will continue to do always.

Understanding Symbols & Messages

As you gaze into your crystal, you may begin to see various symbols, colors, or even moving images.

These impressions hold meaning and are personal to each practitioner. Learning how to interpret these symbols is crucial in making sense of your visions.

  1. Common Symbols & Their Meanings Some symbols have universal meanings. For example, a key might represent new opportunities, while a serpent could symbolize transformation or hidden knowledge.Symbols will recur over the years, allowing you to associate certain symbols with meanings you will consistently recognize.

  2. Intuitive Interpretation Rather than depending only on universal meanings, rely on your inner guidance. Consider what the symbol means to you personally. Trust your own feelings and interpretations over the actual vision.

  3. Practice & Patience Over time, your ability to decode these messages will improve. Keep an open mind and allow meanings to unfold naturally rather than forcing an interpretation.

Strengthening Clairvoyance & Intuition

Clairvoyance, or “clear seeing,” is the psychic ability most associated with scrying. Strengthening this gift requires consistent practice and an open, receptive mindset.

  1. Third Eye Activation Focusing on your third eye (the energy center located between your eyebrows) can assist in awakening and enhancing clairvoyant abilities. Occasionally, I perceive a single eye when my eyes are closed, signaling me to begin.

  2. Energy Work & Breathwork Techniques like deep breathing, visualization, and Reiki can help clear energetic blockages and improve intuitive reception.

  3. Symbol Recognition Exercises Spend time each day looking at symbols, images, or inkblots to train your mind to recognize and interpret subtle visual cues.

Journaling & Tracking Progress

Keeping a journal is one of the most powerful tools for refining your scrying practice.

Recording your experiences allows you to recognize patterns, track accuracy, and refine your interpretations.

  1. Daily Entries After each session, write down everything you saw, felt, and experienced no matter how minor or unclear it may seem at first.

  2. Symbol Dictionary Create your own reference guide for recurring images and their personal meanings.

  3. Review & Reflect Periodically look back at your journal to see how your visions have evolved and whether past symbols have gained clarity over time.

Overcoming Doubts & Blockages

It’s natural to experience self-doubt, especially in the early stages of scrying. However, these doubts can create energetic blockages that hinder your progress. Overcoming them is key to advancing in your practice.

  1. Release Expectations Avoid placing pressure on yourself to see something specific. The more relaxed you are, the easier it will be to receive images.

  2. Address Fear & Skepticism If you fear seeing something unsettling or doubt your abilities, acknowledge these feelings and work through them with meditation and affirmations.

  3. Stay Consistent The more you practice, the more confident and comfortable you will become. Don’t let a “bad session” discourage you—every experience contributes to your growth.

If you've completed this three-part article, you're ready to begin scrying! Enjoy the journey.

Final Thoughts

Crystal gazing is an art that requires patience, dedication, and trust in yourself.

By understanding the symbols you receive, strengthening your clairvoyant abilities, keeping track of your progress, and pushing past doubts, you will unlock the deeper mysteries within the crystal’s depths. Embrace the journey, and let your inner vision guide you.
