Crystal Gaze/Scrying: What Is It, How to Do It, And How To Get Started

Updated: Jul 2, 2023

What is Crystal Gazing/Scrying?

Crystal gazing is the act of looking into a crystal ball in order to see visions or messages. Scrying, on the other hand, is when you use a cup or bowl filled with liquid and usually substances like water and herbs in order to find out what future events may hold in store. A psychic reading is when a person (usually called a psychic) reads your energy and tells you about your past.

Crystal gazing, scrying, and psychic reading are all methods of divination. Divination is the practice of using tarot cards, runes, or other objects to predict the future. Crystal ball reading is one of the most popular methods of divination.

The World of Crystals

Crystals are a part of many healing and spiritual practices, from crystal healing to tarot reading. The first step is cleansing the crystals, which releases any negative energy they may have picked up.

Preparing a crystal for use is a process that varies depending on the type of ritual you're going to use it for.

It's very easy to get lost in the world of crystals. There are so many, with so many purposes. But not all of them are for you. Some are used for cleansing or preparing your crystals for use, but others can be used by someone else entirely

Crystals are an excellent way to promote healing in your life. They can help you connect with your inner self and boost your energy, focus, and creativity. However, they need to be cared for properly in order to maintain their effectiveness. This article will teach you how to clean crystals in order keep them charged and full of life for years to come.

Never clean your crystals with soap or water, only charge them in the light of a full moon or cleanse them in the water of rivers or lakes. Others soak them in salt water. Make sure to cleanse the energy of your tools and the space you are using for scrying with sage.

It's often summarized as praying to your crystals for guidance, or using them as a way to channel information from other sources. Crystal gazing is done with either stones or mirrors. Step Guide to Perform a Basic Crystal Gazing Session

Crystal gazing is a technique that involves staring into a crystal and attempting to see images in the crystal. When the eyes are closed, it can be easier for your mind to wander and imagine what you might see. I recommend you try and keep your eyes open throughout the session, but it’s up to you in the end.

1. Quietly find a place that is not too bright or dark. By positioning a candle behind you while you are scrying for something, it can help foster feelings of peace and calm.

2. Sit down on the floor with your legs crossed, and your back supported. Or a comfortable chair with a low table in front of you. The objective is for you to be eye level to your scrying tool.

3. Place your hands on either side of the crystal

4. Focus on calming down by taking long, deep breaths in and out. It will seem like you are in a trance after a while but just go with it.

5. Gaze into the crystal for between five minutes and one hour, It depends on how much time you have available.

6. Take some time to close your eyes and focus on the moments you spent together. What were the sessions for? What feelings, thoughts or emotions did they evoke? Whatever you found most memorable or impactful, write it down with some detail. Remember to time stamp your session.

Store your tools inside of a box wrapped in a black or blue cloth. These items should be used exclusively by you.

If you're having a hard time seeing anything for a while, don't give up just yet. Your chance will come eventually and you'll be ready. It can be an incredibly inspiring experience that takes practice.
