I sometimes find myself coloring for hours and as the time passes my blood pressure comes down, my shoulders drop, my breathing levels.  I will have the best sleep after an evening of coloring.  One of the most interesting things about coloring therapy is the colors choose you and will help your mood.  When I’m having a stressful day and there is a lot of emotions I will pick blues and purples to help calm my senses.  When I’m all over the place and can’t get grounded I will find myself coloring with earth tones.  I don’t realize at the time that is what I’m doing until I’m done.  When I’m done my picture my mood has shifted and I’m back to center.  Color with a friend, or family member and open the conversation.
